1992-93 Rider Athlete of the Year. Fifth Rider wrestler to become an All-American. 3-time conference champion; finished runner-up as a rookie with a broken ankle. Placed fourth at 1993 Nationals at 190 pounds. Won five of seven bouts at Nationals that year, defeated 2-time All-American to insure All-American status, if he had lost that match, his career would have ended. 108-24 career record, 38-14 as a senior. Third Bronc wrestler to compile 100 career wins; no one else has done it since. 11-6 record in three trips to Nationals. Most Outstanding Wrestler at ECWA Championships and Stroudsburg Open in '93. Won the prestigious Wilkes Open (Rose Bowl of College Wrestling according to Sports Illustrated) twice, 1991 and 1992. Won his weight class at the Midlands in 1994, the most prestigious amateur wrestling tournament in the nation, after winning six of eight bouts at Midlands in 1991. For the last two years, John has been the head coach for wrestling at Bucknell University.
