NATIONAL GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY FREE CLINIC
Â
Since 2000, Rider University Athletics has hosted its annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day Clinic with our female student-athletes to bring attention to the achievements of female athletes, the positive influence of sports participation, and as a way to give back to Rider faculty, staff, and alumni as well as our local community members for the tremendous support they've provided for all of our women's sports programs.Â
Rider held its milestone 24th annual NGWSD Clinic on February 24, 2024, presented by the Law Office of Mark A. Kriegel. The event consisted of a rotation of sports with Rider's female student-athletes and coaches as well as the cheer and dance teams for girls ages 5-17 and featured a women's basketball game at 1 p.m. along with the women's lacrosse team celebrating its inaugural season of competition at Rider during its 4pm game as part of the day's celebration.Â
Both Rider teams claimed victory with women's basketball defeating Marist, 62-61. and women's lacrosse defeating Central Connecticut State, 17-3.
MEALS ON WHEELS
Meals on Wheels (MOW) is a food service program that runs out of our Daly's Dining Hall. Their goal is to prepare warm, nutritious meals for home-bound seniors in the surrounding area. Our student-athletes have signed up for various shifts and assisted the kitchen staff in preparing and packaging meals as well as cleaning, sanitizing, and storing kitchen equipment at the end of the day.
