Men's Golf Wraps Up Play at Princeton Invitational Sunday

Broncs get final tune-up before MAAC Championships this coming weekend

PRINCETON, NJ – Louie Giovacchini (Windermere, FL/Windermere) carded seven birdies en route to a second-round 72 (+1) as the Rider University men's golf team wrapped up play at the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club Sunday afternoon. As a team, the Broncs shaved 12 strokes off their Saturday score and shot 302 (+18) Sunday for a two-day score of 616 (+48) to finish 14th of 14 teams.

Giovacchini started his round at two-under par after four pars and birdies on the Par 4 second and sixth holes. After a bogey on the Par 3 seventh, Giovacchini rebounded with a birdie on the Par 4 eighth hole. Doubles going into and coming out of the turn and a bogey on the 11th put him over par, before three-straight birdies on the Par 5 11th, Par 3 13th and Par 4 14th got him back square. After consecutive bogeys on the Par 4 15th and 16th holes, Giovacchini finished strong with a par on the Par 5 17th and a birdie on the Par 4 18th.

Andrew Bilson (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) was the Broncs' next top finisher at 74 (+3), while Zachary Fisher (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) was next at 76 (+5). The Broncs also counted Ryan Jones' (Canton, NY/Canton Central) 80 (+9), while Joey Lostumbo (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) also competed, carding an 84 (+13).
