GENEVA, OH– The Rider University men's swimming and diving team maintained fifth through the third day of competition at the 2025 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships. The Broncs have compiled 323.5 points, while Niagara leads the meet with 427.5 points.
Opening the night in the 100-fly,
Tivon Benjamin (Palm Bay, FL/St. Anthony's Secondary School) swam 48.55 for fourth and
Nicholas Lane (Hackettstown, NJ/Lane Academy) stopped the clock at 49.11 for sixth.
In the 100-breast,
Billy Ruddy (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional) led the Rider effort, finishing third with a time of 53.61. Max Connelly (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) swam 55.30 to take seventh and
Matthew Borovik (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) swam eighth with a time of 55.97.
Derek Fantano (Morris, CT/Holy Cross) swam 49.49 in the 100-back to finish sixth.
The Broncs had a one-two finish in the diving well.
Stavros Xantheas (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) scored 316.35 to take gold and
Steven Figueroa (Whittier, CA/La Serna) scored 277.55 for silver.
Closing out the night in the 400-medley, Lane, Ruddy, Benjamin, and
Cesar Alvarez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/The Ashton School) finished fifth with a time of 3:16.85.

- Ruddy's time in the 100-breast is a new Rider record.

th in the B-final of the 400-IM.
- In the B-final of the 200-free,
Dawid Turos (Riverwoods, IL/Deerfield) finished 12
th.
- In the 100-back, Lane was ninth,
Riley Rowan (Simpsonville, SC/Clonlara) was 12
th, and Benjamin was 16
th in the B-final.
