GENEVA, OH – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team finished fifth at the 2026 MAAC Championships. The Broncs totaled 983.5 points, while Fairfield won the championship 1,341.83.
Starting the day in the 1,650-free,
Luke Mesco (Mullica Hill, NJ/Mother of Divine Grace) swam 16:02.86 to take seventh. Mesco came back to swim 1:51.77 in the 200-fly to earn fifth.
Maxwell Connelly (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) had an elite swim in the 200-breast, stopping the clock at 1:57.35 to take second.
Matthew Borovik (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) took seventh in the event with a time of 2:00.81.
On the 1-meter,
Stavros Xantheas (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) scored 269.65 to win his second event of the meet.
Steven Figueroa (Whittier, CA/La Serna) scored 261.05 to place third.
Closing out the meet,
Dawid Turos (Riverwoods, IL/Deerfield),
Billy Ruddy (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional),
Ethan Rogowski (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa), and
Cesar Alvarez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/The Ashton School) combined to swim 2:59.77, claiming third in the 400-free relay.
