ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team finished day one of competition at the ECAC Championships on Friday. The Rider men are currently sixth with 85 points. The U.S. Naval Academy is leading the way with 297 points.
Rider opened the day with a second-place finish in the 200-free relay.
Lucas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross),
Christian Overton (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley),
Billy Ruddy (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional), and
Bobby Irwin (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) combined to touch the wall at 1:20.92.
In the 200-IM,
David Rucci (Sewell, NJ/Gateway) swam 1:50.95 to take eighth place.
Overton swam 20.30 in the 50-free, claiming fifth place.
Rounding out the day in the 400-medley relay,
Nicholas Lane (Hackettstown, NJ/Lane Academy),
Maxwell Connelly (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon),
Nelson Paraison (Newark, NJ/Hackensack), and Irwin swam 3:19.54 for sixth.
