BUFFALO, NY – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team is leading the way through the opening day in search of an 11
th-straight title at the MAAC Championships. The Broncs compiled 105 points and lead second-place Marist by just two.
Lucas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross),
David Cooper (Conroe, TX/Klein Oak),
Jack Ruggieri (Bellmawr, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), and
Joe Gewartowski (Fort Washington, PA/Upper Dublin) opened the day with a victory in the 200-medley relay, stopping the clock at 1:28.57 for the win.
In the 1-meter diving event,
Sean Binning (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) and
Marcas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross) finished one-two with scores of 282.05 and 250.60, respectively.
The Broncs closed out the day with a fifth-place finish in the 800-free relay.
