PHILADELPHIA – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team was defeated 168-126 by Penn in its final warmup prior to the MAAC Championships Friday night. The Broncs close out the season at 4-4, while the Quakers improve to 5-4-1.
The Bronc men won six events in the meet.
Rider's first win of the day came by
Ethan Rogowski (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa) in the 200-free. He stopped the clock at 1:42.62 for the victory.
In the 100-back,
Lucas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross) earned the victory in 49.73. Racevicius went on to win the 200-back in 1:52.41.
Alex Boeckx (Folsom, PA/Ridley) followed with a time of 57.41 to win the 100-breast.
David Rucci (Sewell, NJ/Gateway Regional), Racevicius, and
Brayden Murphy (Victor, NY/Victor Senior) swept the 100-IM with times of 51.58, 51.92, and 57.63.
The Broncs closed out the meet with a tie among its two relay teams for the victory in the 400-free relay.
