Racevicius Sets Rider Record as Men's Swimming and Diving Takes Fourth

LEWISBURG, PA – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team finished fourth after three days of competition at the Bucknell Invitational. The Broncs totaled 988.5 points. First place Towson earned 1,435 points.
 
Kyle Iorizzo (Norwood, NJ/Old Tappan Regional) opened day three of competition with a victory in the 1,650-free. He touched the wall at 15:29.80, over 30 seconds ahead of the competition.
 
Lucas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross) led a strong Rider effort in the 200-back, winning the event in 1:45.36, a new Rider record in the event. Christian Overton was third with a time of 1:49.78 and David Rucci (Sewell, NJ/Gateway Regional) swam 1:50.15 for fifth.
 
David Cooper (Spring, TX/Klein Oak) was second in the 200-breast with a time of 2:01.46.
 
Racevicius, David McSorley (West Deptford, NJ/GCIT), Webster Bozzo (Christansted, U.S. Virgin Islands/Good Hope Country Day), and Alex Boeckx (Folsom, PA/Ridley) combined to finish fourth in the 400-free relay with a time of 3:04.04.
 
Sean Binning (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) was fourth in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 260.90.
 
NOTES & QUOTES
- The previous Rider record in the 200-back of 1:45.88 was held by Luke Musselman '19.
- Andrew Smolar (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) claimed 20th in the 1,650-free.
- Derek Fantano won the B-Final of the 200-back for ninth place. Bozzo was 19th in the C-Final.
- McSorley was 13th in the B-Final in the 100-free. Jack Ruggieri (Bellmawr, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) finished 20th in the C-Final.
- Devin Bunner placed 17th in the 200-breast after winning the C-Final.
- Dimitri Maldonado (Middletown, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) was 12th and Bobby Irwin (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) was 13th in the 200-fly B-Final. Brayden Murphy (Victor, NY/Victor Senior) and Nicholas Lane (Hackettstown, NJ/Lane Academy) finished 21st and 24th, respectively, in the C-Final
