LEWISBURG, PA – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team sits third after one day of competition at the Bucknell Invitational. The Broncs have 308.5 points through six events. First place Towson has earned 454 points.
In the opening event of the day,
Joe Gewartowski (Fort Washington, PA/UpperDublin),
Alex Boeckx (Folsom, PA/Ridley),
Bobby Irwin (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East), and
Webster Bozzo (Christansted, U.S. Virgin Islands/Good Hope Country Day) combined for a time of 1:21.84 in the 200-free relay. The team finished third in the event.
Kyle Iorizzo (Norwood, NJ/Old Tappan Regional) earned the first Bronc victory of the day with a time of 4:26.03 in the 500-free, winning the event by over six seconds.
Lucas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross) swam 1:48.23 to win the 200-IM.
Gewartowski was sixth in the 50-free with a time of 20.84.
- In the 1-meter diving event,
Sean Binning (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) was fourth with a score of 259.65 and
Marcas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross) claimed seventh with a score of 227.10.
Lucas Racevicius,
David Cooper (Spring, TX/Klein Oak),
Nicholas Lane (Hackettstown, NJ/Lane Academy), and Boeckx combined for a time of 3:18.27 in the 400-medley relay for second.
