BUFFALO, NY – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team opened action at the 2020 MAAC Championships on Wednesday evening. The four-day event takes place at the Bert Flickinger Athletic Center at Eerie Community College.

After the first two events, the Broncs are in first-place with 74 points. Rider brought home a pair of medals on Wednesday.

The Rider 200 medley relay quartet of
Justin Carey (Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove),
David Cooper (Spring, TX/Klein Oak),
Cole May (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) and
Joe Gewartowski (Fort Washington, PA/Upper Dublin) earned a silver medal thanks to registering a second-place time of 1:29.28.

To end the day, the Bronc 800 free relay of
Lucas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross High School),
Daniel Bonge (Allentown, PA/Salisbury),
Matt Lequang (Plainsboro, NJ/Notre Dame) and Carey won a gold medal with a first-place time of 6:33.24.
