LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team capped its 2019-20 dual-meet season with a resounding victory against visiting Lafayette on Friday evening at the Richard A. Coppola Pool inside the Canastra Health & Sports Center on campus.

Freshman
David Rucci (Sewell, NJ/Gateway Regional) won a pair of individual events for the Broncs. He came in first-place in both the 200 IM (1:55.33) and the 100 back (51.61).

Kyle Iorizzo (Norwood, NJ/Old Tappan Regional) won the 1,000 free with a time of 9:49.61.

Matt Lequang (Plainsboro, NJ/Notre Dame) finished first in the 200 free with a time of 1:42.73.

Daniel Bonge (Allentown, PA/Salisbury High School) came in first-place in the 50 free with a time of 21.45.

Rich Fortels (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) won the 100 fly with a time of 51.40.

Justin Carey (Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove) won the 100 free at 46.31.

David Cooper (Spring, TX/Klein Oak) came in first-place in the 100 breast thanks to touching at 59.80.

Junior
Dillon Walles (The Woodlands, TX/The Woodlands High School) had another dominant day on the boards for the Broncs. He won both the 1M and the 3M. He finished first overall in the 1M with a score of 339.90 and he also came in first in the 3M at 334.05.

NOTES
- Prior to the start of the meet, the Broncs honored their graduating seniors for their contributions to the program.
- Rider ended the dual-meet season with a 6-1 record. The Broncs won their final six dual meets of the year.
- The Rider 200 medley relay quartet of

Joe Gewartowski opened the meet with a victory thanks to finishing at 1:33.61.

Webster Bozzo finished second in both the 200 IM (1:58.90) and the 200 free (48.03).

David Cooper also added a second-place finish in the 1,000 free at 10:13.52.

Jack Ruggieri came in second in the 50 free with a time of 21.73.

Adam Musselman ended up in second-place in the 100 fly at 53.93.

Daniel Bonge also added a second-place results in the 100 back with a time of 53.26.
- Andrew Ianncone finished second in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.76.
UP NEXT
Rider returns to action in a little over two weeks at the 2020 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships. The four-day event takes place February 12-15, at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center at Eerie Community College in Buffalo, New York. The men have won eight straight MAAC titles.
