LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team defeated visiting Bryant, 184.5-115.5, on Saturday in a dual meet at Coppola Pool.
Prior to the meet, the Broncs (6-1, 3-0 MAAC) honored their seniors for their contributions to the program over the last four years.
It was a solid day for the Rider as the team won seven individual events, including both the 1M and 3M diving.
Rider opened the day with a victory in the 200 medley relay as the quartet of
Lucas Musselman (Timonium, MD/Loyola Blakefield),
Carter Paules (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus),
Justin Carey (Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove) and
Vincent Gibbons (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Township) finished with a time of 1:32.35.
Gibbons had a Senior Day to remember as he also won three individual events for the Broncs. He came in first overall in the 50 free (20.90), 100 free (47.11) and the 200 free (1:46.63).
Carey won the 100 back with a time of 49.52 and he also finished third in the 200 back with a mark of 1:52.63. Carey's day was not done as he would also add a second-place results in the 100 fly with a time of 49.62.
Musselman won the 200 back with a time of 1:53.08. He also finished second in both the 100 back (51.40) and the 200 IM (1:54.27.).
Rider was dominant in the diving events. Senior
Joseph Warker (Reading PA/Wilson), the reigning MAAC Men's Diver of the Week, won both the 1M and the 3M on Saturday. He had a score of 313.13 in the 1M and he posted a mark of 288.60 in the 3M. Sophomore
Patrik Rollefson (Paron, AR/Pulaski Academy) came in second in both the 3M (260.62) and the 1M (270.30).
BRONCS BY THE NUMBERS
- The match was the final home meet of the 2018-19 season for the Broncs.
- Rider returns to action next Saturday, January 26, with a road dual meet against Lafayette.

Kyle Iorizzo came in second in both the 1,00 free (9:53.30) and the 500 free (4:49.14).

Carter Paules was second in the 100 breast with a time of 59.34.

Cole May came in second-place in the 200 fly at 1:55.80.

Daniel Bonge was second in the 100 free with a mark of 47.22.

David Cooper ended up in second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:09.99.
