Divers Wrap Up Action at the NCAA Zone A Championships

Joe Warker and Dillon Walles competed in the 1M on Tuesday

PISCATAWAY, NJ – A pair of Rider University divers competed in the 1M at the NCAA ZONE A Championships on Tuesday afternoon at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center on the campus of Rutgers University.

Freshman Dillon Walles (The Woodlands, TX/The Woodlands High School) and junior Joe Warker (Reading, PA/Wilson) competed for the Broncs. Neither of the two qualified for the finals.

"It's an honor to have qualified for the zone meet," Rider Head Coach Steve Fletcher said. "You can't make it to the NCAAs unless you get to this level. Both Dillon and Joe will gain from this experience. It proves to them that they are capable of competing with the best athletes in the region."

Walles landed in 28th-place with a score of 250.65 in the prelims, while Warker posted a mark of 235.85 which was good enough for 33rd.
