Super Sunday at Rider Today
Field Hockey, Women's Soccer and Volleyball Highlight Tripleheader

LAWRENCEVILLE--For those who can't get enough of Rider Athletics (and want to save a little on gas), Sunday will be a treat as the Broncs will be in action with three home events.

At noon, the undefeated Bronc field hockey team takes the field against Northeast Conference rival Quinnipiac. The 11-0 (2-0 NEC) squad is led by sophomore Megan Pisani (Plainsboro, N.J./W. Windsor Plainsboro-North) who has a conference leading 14 goals (six game-winners) and 31 points along with senior goalie Lyndsie Johnson (Gibbsboro/Eastern) who enters play with a 0.53 goals against average.

In the latest NCAA national statistics, the Broncs were second in save percentage (.853) and goals against average (0.49), fifth in scoring margin (2.81), 11th in goals per game (3.40), 17th in scoring average (3.30), 17th in points per game (8.90) and 24th in assists per game (2.10). Rider has not trailed at any point this season and is out-scoring its opponents 37-6. Rider is one of only three undefeated teams in NCAA Division I including Maryland (14-0) and North Carolina (12-0).

On Friday, the Broncs tied the Rider record for most wins in a row by the field hockey team (11 games, set in 2003) and this is the best start in the history of the program, surpassing the 11-1 start by the 2004 squad that went 18-3 and advanced to the NCAA Play-In game as Northeast Conference champion.

At 2pm, the Rider women's soccer team faces Marist College in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game. Sporting a 3-1 home record, the Broncs are led by junior Lauren Musumeci (Annandale/North Hunterdon) who has six goals and 13 points. Musumeci who has taken 21 of Rider's 65 shots this season, is fourth in career goals as a Bronc.

Also at 2pm, the Rider volleyball team faces Canisius College in a MAAC match at the Student Recreation Center. The Broncs are led by senior Amy Jeary (Depew, N.Y./St. Mary's) at 4.37 digs per set and junior Amanda Piccolini (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) who has 6.31 assists per set. Jeary recently set the modern day Rider dig record and enters play with 1,673 digs in her Bronc career. On Saturday against Niagara, Piccolini recorded a 'double-double' with 31 assists and 11 digs.
