LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University men's tennis student-athletes
Matteus Froberg Dahlin (Lidingo, Sweden/Hersby Gymnasium),
Dhruv Tangri (Punjab, India/Cambridge International School) and
Cole Thurgur (Ottawa, Ontario/Nepean) have each been named to the All-MAAC Men's Tennis Teams, the league office today announced. In addition to each being named to the Second Team in singles, Froberg Dahlin and Tangri were also named to the First Team as a doubles tandem. Thurgur joined them on the Second Team in singles.
In addition, eight Broncs were announced as MAAC All-Academic Team honorees, the second-most in the league.

Matthew Griscti (Madliena, Malta),
Dylan Lachmanen (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep),
Roger Martinez (Girona, Spain/Saint George's School),
Chris Polish (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Baldwin School of Puerto Rico),
Nathan Slattery (Nenagh, Ireland) and
Ibragim Turgambekov (Almaty, Kazakhstan) each earned the honor. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
Two years after joining former Bronc
Stavros Hadjivarnava in becoming Rider's first-ever All-MAAC selections in men's tennis, Tangri becomes Rider's first-ever two- and three-time All-MAAC selection. He posted a 9-8 singles record in dual matches, including a 5-3 mark against league competition. He went 7-8 while playing out of the No. 1 flight and won both of his matches at No. 2.
Froberg Dahlin has also shared time between the top two singles flights along with Tangri, posting an 11-10 overall record, including a 5-3 mark in MAAC matches. He went 4-3 at No. 1 and 7-7 at No. 2.
Together, Tangri and Froberg Dahlin have posted a 6-4 mark at No. 1 singles in dual matches, including a 4-2 record against league competition.
Thurgur went a perfect 8-0 in singles matches against league competition to earn his All-MAAC honor. He saw action at four different positions in the line-up from No. 3 through No. 6, going 1-2 at No. 3, 6-5 at No. 4, 3-1 at No. 5 and 2-0 at No. 6.
The sixth-seeded Broncs open MAAC Championship play in the opening round Friday at 10 a.m. against third-seeded Fairfield at Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor.
