FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Men's Tennis was defeated by Fairfield to open MAAC play Tuesday afternoon by a score of 4-2.
Despite a strong performance from Matteus Froberg Dahlin and Cole Thurgur in doubles, the Broncs were unable to secure the point, as Fairfield won the other two matches.
Thurgur continued his strong performance in singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win. Since his match last Wednesday against Florida Southern, Thurgur remains unbeaten with eight wins between singles and doubles.
Nathan Slattery won the other singles match for the Broncs, earning a decisive 6-0, 6-1 victory to extend his unbeaten run in singles to four straight.
Fairfield won the other three singles matches, however, which was enough to clinch the match. Matteus Froberg Dahlin's match ended early as a result of the Stags having clinched the match during the first set.
Men's Tennis continues conference play at home on Sunday against Niagara.
