WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Rider University men's and women's track and field teams are set for the 2020 MAAC Indoor Championships this weekend, February 22-23, at The 168th Street Armory in New York City.

- Both the Rider men and women were picked to finish second in the MAAC Indoor Track & Field Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Bronc women received two first-place votes in the poll voted on the league's head coaches.

- The Rider men finished second at the 2019 MAAC Indoor Championships. The Broncs return the Male Field Performer Rookie of the Meet from last year's championships in sophomore
Ayo Oyewole. The Rider men also return two members of the gold-medal winning 4x400 relay at the MAAC Indoor Championships (
James Green &
Noah Rivera-Sharp).

- The Rider women also came in second-place at the 2019 MAAC Indoor Championships. The Broncs return
Daniella Izzo who won gold last year in the pole vault.
Fidele Jules and
Quinn Bithell also earned medals at MAAC Indoor Championships last season in the weight throw and the high jump, respectively.

- The men's team has set one new program records this season. At the John Thomas Terrier Classic, the distance medley relay quartet of
Tom Long,
Kevin Heredia,
Jerome Boyer and
Michael Mazzei finished second overall with a new Rider record and IC4A-qualifying time of 9:51.98.

- The women have broken three program records so far this season. At the Gotham Cup, freshman
Allie Riches broke her own record in the pole vault thanks to clearing 3.85m. At the Penn State National Open, the Bronc 4x400 relay of
Mary Ilelaboye,
Sophia Castronovo,
Farrah Miller and
Quinn Bithell set a new program record with a time of 3:53.74. At the John Thomas Terrier Classic, the distance medley relay quartet of Tegan Schein-Becker,
Mary Ilelaboye,
Paris Boucher and
Kristin Siegle set a new program record with an ECAC-qualifying time of 11:45.56. Their time was good enough for fifth overall.

- The Rider men have two student-athletes that have the top time/mark in the MAAC in their event this season. Freshman
Sam Aviles has the fastest time in the conference in the 60m hurdles (8.11) and
Justin Gladden has the top mark in the triple jump at 14.40m. In the triple jump, the Bronc men have four of the top-five marks this season. Three other Rider competitors have the second-best time/mark in events this winter.
Devin Anderson enters the MAAC Championships with the second-fastest time in the 200m (22.18),
Michael Mazzei has the second-quickest time in the 1,000 (2:26.85) and
Ayo Oyewole is currently second in the long jump at 7.38m.

- The Rider women also have two student-athletes that have the top time/mark in the MAAC in their event this season. Freshman
Allie Riches has the top clearance in the pole vault (3.85) in the conference and
Quinn Bithell has the best mark in the MAAC in the high jump at 1.70m. Three other Broncs also have the second-best mark/time in the MAAC in an event this year.
Jabria Rozier is second in the high jump at 1.65m,
Sophia Castronovo has the second-best time in the MAAC in the 400 (56.83) and
Kristin Siegle has the second-quickest mark in the 800 in the MAAC with a time of 2:13.90.
