LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University Track & Field Head Coach
Bob Hamer has announced the Broncs schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 indoor campaign. On the docket, Rider will make six trips to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, twice each in New York City and Boston, as well as at Monmouth. At long last, the Rider women will defend their 2020 MAAC Championship following last season's cancellation, while the men also make their return following a strong, second-place finish in 2020.
"We are very excited to return to competing during the indoor season after missing out last year," said Hamer. "We have put together a really competitive schedule that will prepare our athletes for the championship portion of the season. We are ready for a great indoor season."
The Broncs compete five times at Ocean Breeze to open the season, taking part in the Fastrack Season Opener (Dec. 3), the Wagner College Invitational (Jan. 7), the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartan Invite (Jan. 14), the Gotham Cup (Jan. 21) and the Great Dane Invitational (Jan. 28). The Broncs will also take part in the John Terrier Classic in Boston, Jan. 28-29.
The Rutgers Open and Monmouth Winter Collegiate follow simultaneously on Feb. 11-12, giving the Broncs one last tune-up for MAAC Championships, to be held Feb. 19-20 at the 168
th St. Armory in New York City.
The Broncs head back to Staten Island for the Fastrack Last Chance Invitational on Feb. 25, before taking part in ECAC/IC4A Championships, March 4-6. NCAA Championships are scheduled for March 11-12 in Birmingham, AL.
