JACKSONVILLE, NJ – Michael Horn (Plainfield, NJ/Saint Joseph HS (Metuchen)) of the Rider University track and field team competed in the triple jump at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships on Saturday. The three-day event is contested at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium.

"Unfortunately at some point each year the season comes to an end and today that was it," Rider Head Coach Bob Hamer said.

In his three leaps in the triple his best mark was 14.16m. He did not advance.

"Mike struggled a bit today to compete at this level," Hamer added. "You need to be firing on all cylinders at this level and he just didn't have it today. It was great accomplishment for him to compete at this meet and he has made many great contributions to the program."
