EDISON, NJ – Damere Lassiter and
Isaac Roberts have earned the season's first MAAC Indoor Track & Field Weekly Honors, the conference office announced this afternoon.
Lassiter was named MAAC Field Performer of the Week after a standout showing at the Penn Opener. The sophomore dominated the weight throw with a winning mark of 16.34 meters and added a fourth-place finish in the shot put at 15.93 meters. His weight throw ranks No. 3 in the MAAC—just 16 centimeters off the top spot—while his shot put mark leads the conference by more than a meter. The shot put mark also stands as No. 7 all-time at Rider and meets the IC4A qualifying standard.
Roberts claimed MAAC Rookie Performer of the Week following an impressive collegiate debut. The freshman placed second in the 60m hurdles at the Penn Opener, clocking an 8.00—currently the top time in the MAAC and No. 6 all-time in Rider history. His performance also meets the IC4A qualifying mark.
The Broncs return to action in the new year when they compete at the Spartan Invitational on Jan. 9.
