JACKSONVILLE, FL – Freshman
Anthony Ragusa (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) of the Rider University track and field team competed in the javelin on Friday afternoon at the NCAA East Preliminary Championship. The three-day event is contested at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium.
"Ragusa competed very well today," Rider Head Coach
Bob Hamer said. "He had a big first throw and he was just unable to surpass it with his next two throws. This was a great experience for him and a great opportunity for him to grow from this in subsequent years."
Ragusa finished sixth in his heat and 30th overall with his best throwing being 61.30m. His strong freshman campaign comes to an end with him holding the program record in the javelin.
