PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Rider University women's track and field team concluded action at the 125th Penn Relay at Franklin Field on Saturday.
On the third day of competition at the three-day event, the Broncs got a strong performance from graduate student
Sara Gardner (Holland Township, NJ/Delaware Valley).
Gardner finished second in the finals of the 100m hurdles with an ECAC-qualifying time of 13.46.
"Sara ran a really nice race today," Rider Head Coach
Bob Hamer said. "She really wanted to win today but second is still a great finish at Penn Relays. This was a great opportunity for her to be pressed and she responded very well. This will be a race that will provide a lot for her during the championship portion of the season. It also was really great to see her bounce back after a really disappointing race at Georgia Tech. I'm very excited for her and she deserves this kind of success."
Rider returns to action next weekend, May 4-5, traveling to West Long Branch to compete in the 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Outdoor Championships hosted by Monmouth.
