EDISON, NJ – Maddie Dischert and Janell Mordi each earned MAAC Weekly Awards following standout performances over the weekend, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Dischert was named MAAC Track Performer of the Week after a historic showing at the Bison Outdoor Classic. The junior shattered Rider's 5000m program record, crossing the line in 16:34.70. The mark not only represents a 25-second personal best, but also ranks second in the MAAC this season. Dischert surpassed the previous school record of 16:38.61 set by Grace Medei in 2025.
Mordi collected her first career MAAC Rookie Performer of the Week honor after delivering three all-time top-10 performances at the Duke Invitational. The freshman ran on Rider's 4x100 relay team that posted a 46.52, good for second all-time in program history and second in the MAAC this season. Individually, she clocked a 24.94 in the 200m (seventh all-time) and a 14.68 in the 100m hurdles (ninth all-time).
The Broncs return to action on April 17 when they host the Rider Invitational.
