NEW YORK, NY – The Rider University men's track and field opened action at the 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Indoor Championships on Saturday. The two-day event takes place February 16-17, at the 168th Street Armory.
Heading into the final day of action, the Broncs are in second-place with 35.5 points. Monmouth leads the MAAC Championships after day one with 79.5 points.
Rider earned a pair of medals on Saturday.
Senior
Matt Kraemer (Budd Lake, NJ/Mount Olive) earned the first gold medal of the championships for Rider by winning the weight throw. Kraemer bested the field with an IC4A-qualifying toss of 17.59m.
Freshman
Ayo Oyewole (Colonia, NJ/Colonia) made a splash in his first conference championship appearance, earning a silver medal in the long jump with a second-place and IC4A-qualifying leap of 7.37m.

Soham Kolli and Darnel St. Clair tied for seventh in the high jump at 1.84m.
