STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Rider University men's track and field team opened the 2019-20 indoor season at the Fastrack Season Opener on Friday. The one-day event took place at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

In his first collegiate meet, freshman
Sam Aviles (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra) had an impressive debut. Aviles won the 60m hurdles with an IC4A-qualifying time of 8.11.

In the 400m dash, a pair of Broncs finished in the top-five. Sophomore
James Green (Timonium, MD/Dulaney) came in second-place with a time of 49.32 and
Noah Rivera-Sharp (Randolph, NJ/Newton) landed in fifth with a mark of 50.06.

Derian Stianche came in fifth in the 800 with a time of 1:58.88.

Devynn Lee finished fifth in the high jump at 1.90m.

Jakob Morrissey was fourth in the shot put with a toss of 13.53m.
