PRINCETON, NJ – The Rider University men's track and field team took part in the Princeton New Year's Invite on Saturday. The one-day event took place inside Jadwin Gymnasium.
Rider got a strong performance from senior
Michael Horn (Plainfield, NJ/Saint Joseph HS (Metuchen)). Horn finished in second-place in the triple jump with a new personal best and IC4A-qualifying mark of 14.67.
In the 800, Rider was dominant as the Broncs had the top-three finishers. Sophomore
Kenley Souffrant (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) won with a time of 1:57.63. He was followed by classmate
Thomas Avolio (Valhalla, NY/Valhalla) in second, while freshman
Donald Vineyard (Egg Harbor, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) landed in third-place.
Senior
Russell Malko (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) continued to be a key cog for the Broncs as he finished in second-place in the 200 with a time of 22.79.

Noah Rivera-Sharp finished in second with a time of 3:25.80.

Marcquis Smallwood was seventh in the 60m dash at 7.09.

Alvin Abraham was third in the 200 with a mark of 22.83.

James Green landed in fourth in the 200 at 22.89.

La'Shan White was second in the 400 at 51.80.

Nate Bowie finished third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.35.

La'Shan White also came in sixth in the 60m hurdles at 8.70.

Matt Siley tied for fourth-place in the high jump with a mark of 1.85.

Marcell Brown was fourth in the shot put with a toss of 15.48.
- Matthew Kraemer was third in the weight throw at 15.72.

Cody Campbell was fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 15.11.
UP NEXT
The meet marked the final competitive action for the Broncs during the first semester. Rider returns to action on Friday, January 4, traveling to Staten Island, New York to compete in the one-day Wagner Invite at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
