STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Rider men's track and field team opened action for the indoor campaign at the Fastrack Season Opener on Saturday. The one-day event was contested at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Freshman
James Green (Timonium, MD/Dulaney) had an impressive collegiate debut for the Broncs winning a pair of events. He finished first overall in the 400 with an IC4A-qualifying time of 48.59. He was also part of the 4x400 relay alongside
Russell Malko (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central),
Jerome Boyer (Edison, NJ/Edison) and
Alvin Abraham (Egg Harbor, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) that won with an IC4A-qulaifying time of 3:17.82.
Senior
Nate Bowie (Matawan, NJ/Matawan) had a strong return for the Broncs, winning the 60m hurdles with an IC4A-qualifying time of 8.30.
The Broncs also received strong performances from
Allen Killiebrew (Carney's Point, NJ/Penns Grove) and
Michael Horn (Plainfield, NJ/Saint Joseph's High School (Metuchen)) in the triple jump. Both student-athletes posted IC4A-qualifying marks. Killiebrew came in second with a mark of 14.70m, while Horn landed in third with a leap of 14.50m.

Shaq Boyd finished third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.67.

Russell Malko was second in the 400 with a time of 49.25.

Ethan Dowie finished second in the long jump with a mark of 6.92m.

Adam Maid posted a mark of 15.13m in the shot put.
UP NEXT
Rider returns to action on Saturday, December 8 with a meet a nearby Princeton University. The Broncs will compete in the one-day Princeton New Year's Invite at Jadwin Gymnasium.
