HAMPDEN, MA –
Thomas Durkin (Suffield, CT/Suffield) shot an even-par 72 as the Rider University men's golf team remained tied for fifth following the second round at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse on Monday. Rider shot 305 for the day. Durkin's strong day positions him tied for third in the individual scoring at three over for the tournament, two strokes behind the leaders at one over.
Austin Devereux (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan) and
Andrew Forjan (York, PA/York Catholic) both shot five over 77, while
Nathan Bazant (Venetia, PA/Trinity [California (PA)]) carded a 79.
Jake Sollon (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) rounded out the Broncs' scores with an 81.
UConn remains in the team lead at an 11-over 587, while Hartford is second at 599. Sacred Heart (602) and Lafayette (603) sit ahead of the Broncs and Colgate at 607.

- Joining Durkin near the top of the leaderboard is Devereux, who stands tied for 18
th at seven over.
- Durkin led the Broncs with four birdies on the round, while Devereux was next with three.
- Sollon played the back nine at even par.
- A day after posting the 13
th-best score of 13 teams on the Par 5's (+9), the Broncs carded the best score in the second round (+1).
- Rider (607) remains the top team among MAAC schools in competition, ahead of Siena (609), Fairfield (617) and Saint Peter's (620).

The third and final round of the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse is scheduled for Tuesday morning. Bazant is the first Bronc off the tee at 9:20 a.m., followed by Sollon (9:30), Forjan (9:40), Devereux (9:50) and Durkin (10:00).
