Men's Golf 18th After First Round at Bucknell Invitational

Canino leads Broncs at 73 (+3)

LEWISBURG, PA – Playing as an individual, Luke Canino (Washington Township, NJ/Washington Township) shot 73 (+3) and the Rider University men's golf team sits 18th of 19 teams at the three-round, three-day Bucknell Invitational at Bucknell Golf Club with a first-round 305 (+25) following 18 holes.

Riley Richards (East Montpelier, VT/U-32 [Franklin Pierce]) led the scorers counted by the Broncs with a four-over 74, while Ryan Jones (Canton, NY/Canton Central) shot a six-over 76. Andrew Bilson (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) and Sebastian Pell (Center Rutland, VT/Rutland) were one and two strokes back of Jones, respectively at 77 (+7) and 78 (+8). Nathan Tallinder (Madison, NJ/Madison [Hartford]) also competed with a 10-over 80.


NOTES
- Robert Morris leads the team scoring at 280 (E), four strokes ahead of Holy Cross at 284 (+4).
- Mount St. Mary's (290, +10, T-5th), Canisius (291, +11, T-7th), Manhattan (293, +13, T-10th) and Niagara (296, +16, 14th) are also representing the MAAC at the tournament.
- A quartet of Leo Chu of Holy Cross, Chase Bokker and Ben Sheridan of Robert Morris and Mikey Takacs of Canisius sits atop the individual leaderboard at 68 (-2).
- Jones led the Broncs with three birdies on the round, followed by Canino and Richards with two each. Bilson and Tallinder also carded one birdie apiece.

UP NEXT
The Broncs resume action at the Bucknell Invitational from Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, PA, for Monday's morning's second of three rounds. Teams begin teeing off from the 1st and 10th tees at 9 a.m.
