Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Match

BALTIMORE, Md.?Both the Rider University men's and women's tennis teams lost a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match at Loyola Wednesday afternoon.  “We got beat quite easily on a very windy day,” said head coach Ed Torres.  “Loyola has a more experienced team than we do.  Overall, we made too many errors.”

For the Rider men, senior Casey Jedlinski (Manalapan) posted a straight set win at number one singles 6-2, 6-2, running his record to 10-3 this season.

“Casey played his usual very, very strong game,” Torres said.  “His forehand and backhand was working well today.  Rick McClure, Loyola's coach of almost 30 seasons, had some very nice things to say about Casey's game and how far his game has come since he was a freshman.  Those comments were very nice to hear and it was a nice compliment to Casey's hard work.”

Both the men and women return to action on Friday in a MAAC match against Fairfield at 1 p.m.
