FAIRFAX, VA – Lisa Dierick,
Jolie Kaiser and
Daniela Naves won at the top three singles flights, but the Rider University women's tennis team was edged at George Mason, 4-3, Saturday to wrap up the Broncs' fall schedule. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 1-3, while the Patriots improve to 2-2.
Dierick and
Elle Catanzarite took the top doubles flight, 6-2, over Cenan Liu and Mary Young. But the Patriots took a pair of 6-4 victories at Nos. 2 and 3 to earn the doubles point.
Dierick, Kaiser and Naves all earned singles victories at the top three flights. Dierick defeated Liu, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 1, while Kaiser also used straight sets to get past Maya Bayat, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 2. Naves also defeated Mary Young, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 3. But the Patriots would take straight-sets victories at Nos. 4-6 to earn the 4-3 match victory.
