CLEVELAND, OH – Tyler Klinsky and
Will Betancourt of the Rider University wrestling team were named to the Academic All-MAC Team, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.
Klinsky earns his third Academic All-MAC selection, previously receiving the honor in 2022 and 2023. The graduate student holds a 3.88 GPA in Special Education. Betancourt collected his first Academic All-MAC honor, posting a perfect 4.0 GPA in Talent & Organizational Development.
Klinsky capped his season at 30-6, earning NCAA All-American honors with an eighth-place finish, while Betancourt concluded his year at 23-10 after making his NCAA Championships debut.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests scheduled or completed in the particular sport. First-year students and any transfer in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments for the current season only are considered.
