LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University Deputy Athletic Director John Hangey has that announced Nic Bedelyon has been promoted to Interim Head Coach of the wrestling team. Bedelyon will be aided by assistant coaches Doug Umbehauer and Tyler Klinsky.

"Our wrestling program is in great hands under Nic's leadership. We've spent the past 14 years working side by side, including the last nine as Head Coach and Associate Head Coach, and there is no one I trust more or believe is better prepared to lead Rider Wrestling. Nic understands the culture, standards, and expectations we've built together, and he is more than ready for this opportunity. I'm excited to watch him put his own stamp on the program and take Rider Wrestling to new heights." Deputy Athletic Director John Hangey said.

While serving as Associate Head Coach of the Broncs, Bedelyon has helped orchestrate a Top 10 recruiting class, landed several Top 5 nationally-ranked recruits, secure a Top 20 team finish at the NCAA's and helped coach seven All Americans since 2015.

As a competitor, Bedelyon enjoyed a very successful career wrestling for Kent State University.  He earned All-America honors twice, finishing 8th in 2009 and 6th in 2012. Bedelyon was also a four-time NCAA Qualifier, and two-time MAC Champion and won the prestigious Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational in 2011.
