MANHEIM, PA – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced its NCAA Division I Men's Scholar All-America Awards, with
Tyler Klinsky,
Will Betancourt, and
Elijah Griffin representing Rider among the nation's top academic performers.
A total of 393 student-athletes from 73 institutions earned recognition for their success both in the classroom and on the mat throughout the season.
Klinsky closed out his six-year career as an NCAA All-American, placing eighth at the national tournament while compiling a 30-6 record. A member of the MAC All-Academic Team, he adds NWCA Scholar All-America honors to his decorated résumé.
Betancourt finished his season 23-10 overall, earning his first trip to the NCAA Championships. He was also named to the MAC All-Academic Team and now earns NWCA Scholar All-America distinction.
Griffin wrapped up his final season with a 29-9 record, finishing one win shy of All-America status after a medical forfeit at the NCAA Championships. He concludes his career as an NWCA Scholar All-American.
