BERLIN, MD – All five Broncs in the line-up shot between 72 (E) and 74 (+2) as the Rider University men's golf team wrapped up play Saturday at the Battle at Rum Pointe by matching its low round of the season at 292 (+4). For the tournament, the Broncs (303-292-595) finished eighth of 15 teams.
Individually, Jacob Delaney (Stockton, CA/Saint Mary's) shot a team-best 72 (E) on Saturday. Louie Giovacchini (Windermere, FL/Windermere), who sat tied atop the individual leaderboard after shooting two-under 70 in the first round, shot one-over 73 Saturday to finish tied for sixth for the tournament at 143 (-1).
Andrew Bilson (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) also shot 73 (+1) Saturday and finished with a two-day score of 147 (+3), good for a tie for 24th. Joey Lostumbo (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) and Zachary Fisher (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) rounded out the Broncs' line-up with a pair of 74's (+2) on Saturday.
NOTES
- Fairfield shot a tournament low 279 (-9) Saturday to run away with the team title at 567 (-9), eight strokes better than the field, with Colgate and Iona finishing tied for second at 575 (-1).
- The Broncs were one of six MAAC schools in competition, joining the Stags, Iona, Mount St. Mary's (579, +3, 4
th), Manhattan (597, +21, T-9
th) and Saint Peter's (597, +21, T-9
th).
- Fairfield's Peter Crowe took medalist honors, shooting 69 (-3) Saturday and 139 (-5) for the tournament.
- The Broncs' 292 matched their season-low round, established on a Par 71 course at the Columbia Autumn Invitational at Lake Placid Golf Club on Sept. 28.
- Lostumbo had a team-high four birdies Saturday.
- Delaney had three birdies, while Giovacchini and Bilson had two apiece.
