What You Need To Know
- Both women's lacrosse games this week will be streamed live on BroncVision.
- Prior to Saturday's game, the team will honor Alan Gurwitz '71, who helped the lacrosse program become a reality and will feature a ceremonial first draw between Rider University President Dr. Greg Dell'Omo and Athletic Director Don Harnum.
- The Broncs won their inaugural game, 19-7, over FDU. Seven Broncs scored goals in the contest led by five goals from
Katie Walsh (Marlton, NJ/Camden Catholic[FDU-Florham]).
- The Broncs were picked to finish tenth in their inaugural season in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll.

Evan Mager will be the coach for the Broncs after three seasons at FDU-Florham where he compiled a 34-7 record, including a 16-0 record entering the NCAA Division III Tournament in his second season in 2021. After that season he was named MAC Freedom and IWLCA Boardwalk Region Coach of the Year.
- Walsh, Rider's all-time leader in both goals and points, along with
Anna Devlin (Marmora, NJ/Ocean City[TCNJ]), who scored four goals in the season opener were previously IWLCA Division III All-Americans.

Selena Carrington (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North[Rutgers]) was the third Bronc to record a hat trick in the contest, scoring the first ever goal by a Bronc just over three minutes into the contest.
- Walsh, Devlin, Carrington, and
Hayley Henderson (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) each had three draw controls to help the Broncs secure a 15-10 edge on the draw circle against FDU.

Marybeth Smith (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) led Rider with two caused turnovers defensively.
- In goal,
Jamie Kubach (Philadelphia, PA/William Penn Charter[FDU-Florham]) allowed six goals and made seven saves to earn the win at FDU.
- The Broncs defense was a perfect 18-for-18 on clearing attempts and Rider turned the ball over just seven times, leading the nation in both statistical categories early in the season.
- Rider's roster features players from nine different states, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
- Saint Francis reached the NEC Tournament last season after a 10-6 year that included a 5-3 conference mark. The Red Flash were defeated, 17-7, by Oregon in their season opener last week. Julia Givens scored a hat trick for the Red Flash in the opener with Danielle Hernandez adding two goals and two assists.
- Central Connecticut State is playing its season opener in Lawrenceville. The Blue Devils were 4-11 last season, with a 2-6 mark in NEC play. Lauren Valluzi is the team's top returner after scoring 18 goals and adding a team-high 13 assists last year.
