PROVIDENCE, RI – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team sits in fifth after two days of competition at the Bruno Invitational, hosted by Brown University. The Broncs have scored 133 points in the meet, while the host Bears lead the way with 793 points.
Thursday night, the Broncs had two scoring teams in the 800-free relay led by the team of
Ethan Rogowski (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa),
Dawid Turos (Riverwoods, IL/Deerfield),
Derek Fantano (Morris, CT/Holy Cross), and
Billy Ruddy (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional).
The Broncs got a sixth-place finish in the 200-free relay to start Friday. Ruddy,
Alex Boeckx (Folsom, PA/Ridley), Turos, and
Cesar Alvarez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/The Ashton School) combined to stop the clock at 1:21.68.
Stavros Xantheas (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) scored 257.95 on the 1-meter to earn seventh place.
Closing out the day in the 400-medley relay
Riley Rowan (Simpsonville, SC/Clonlara),
Matthew Borovik (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield),
Nelson Paraison (Newark, NJ/Hackensack), and Rogowski were the top-scoring team for the Broncs.
