SOMERSET, NJ – The NEC announced its selections for weekly field hockey awards Tuesday and
Olivia Machiavelli was chosen as NEC Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week. It is the first Offensive Player and fourth Rookie of the Week honor of the season for the Spaniard.
Machiavelli scored three goals during the 2-0 week for the Broncs to bring her season total to an NEC leading 10. In Rider's win over Saint Francis, Machiavelli scored two goals, including the game winner with less than two minutes remaining, breaking a 2-2 tie. The freshman then added a goal in Rider's 3-1 win over Hofstra to help the Broncs complete their 2-0 week.
Rider returns to action on Friday when the Broncs host Merrimack at 7 p.m.
