Field Hockey Trio Garner All-NEC Honors

BRIDGEWATER, NJ – The NEC announced its selections for field hockey All-NEC Teams and Rider University's Valeria Perales was named First-Team All-NEC with Megan Normile and Emma Bonshak both being named to the All-NEC Second Team.

Perales, now a four-time First-Team All-NEC honoree, led the Broncs this season with 13 goals and six assists. The senior was a two-time NEC Offensive Player of the Week and made program history during the season, becoming the first Bronc in program history to earn NFHCA National Player of the Week honors. Perales led both Rider and the NEC with four game-winning goals during the season, including the game-winner in double overtime in the regular season finale against Wagner to secure a spot in the NEC Tournament.

Normile earns her second-straight All-NEC honor after being named to the First-Team a season ago. The senior was key piece for Rider, anchoring the penalty corner defense, while also adding four goals and four assists on the offensive end.

Bonshak earns her first All-Conference honor after a breakout junior campaign. Bonshak led Rider in minutes played locking down the back line, and was also important to the Rider offensive penalty corner unit, contributing six goals and three assists, both career highs.

The Broncs are back in action for the first round of the NEC Tournament Thursday with the Broncs taking on the host Stags of Fairfield at 11 a.m.
