LEWISBURG, PA – Rider University men's golf freshman Pelle Ahlqvist (Habo, Joenkoeping, Sweden/Sandagymnasiet) shot a one-under 69 and sophomore Ben Ortwein (Easton, PA/Notre Dame) shot even-par 70 to lead the Broncs in the second round of the Bucknell Invitational Monday at Bucknell Golf Club. The Broncs shot 290 (+10), shaving six strokes off their Monday round, and sit tied for 10^th of 19 teams after two rounds.

Following a bogey on the first hole, Ahlqvist carded four birdies and four par's for the remainder of his front 90. He moved to four under par with a birdie on the Par 3 10^th hole and remained at four under with pars on the 11^th, 12^th, 13^th and 14^th holes. But three bogeys on the final four holes pushed his score to a one-under 69 for the round. At +4 for the tournament, Ahlqvist paces the Broncs on the individual leaderboard in 18^th.

Ortwein's round featured three bogeys, a birdie, an eagle and 13 pars for his even-par 70 and he's 22^nd after two rounds at five over (145). Mike McCrone (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) shot 75 (+5), with Connor Bekefi (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) a stroke back at 76 (+6) and Joey Lostumbo (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) rounding out the lineup with a 77 (+7).

- Rider's round featured a pair of eagles – one each from Ortwein and McCrone. Ortwein eagled the Par 5, 527-yard 15^th hole, while McCrone followed up a birdie on the Par 4 8^th hole with his eagle on the 499-yard, Par 5 9^th hole.
- The Broncs are defending their Bucknell Invitational Championship after winning the tournament last year with a three-round score of 858.
- Colgate sits atop the team leaderboard at 559 (-1).  
- LIU's Lewis Wright is the individual leader at 136 (-4).
- Rider (586, +26, T-10^th) is one of four MAAC schools in competition, joining Mount St. Mary's (583, +23, 6^th), Canisius (602, +42, 15^th) and Saint Peter's (604, +44, 17^th).
