Men's Golf Wraps Up Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate Play Sunday

Broncs shoot one-under 283

KENSINGTON, CT – Louie Giovacchini (Windermere, FL/Windermere) shot a two-under 69 to lead three Rider University men's golfers at or under par Sunday as the Broncs shot a one-under 283 as a team to wrap up play at the Ryan T. Lee Collegiate Invitational. The Broncs finished 14th of 17 teams for the tournament.  

Connor Bekefi (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) shot one-under 70 on the day, while Rick van der Nat (Noordwijk, The Netherlands/Visser 't Hooft) shot even-par 71 a day after shooting 70 to finish the tournament at one under, good for 21st to lead Rider. Zander Gibson's (Concord, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) one-over 73 rounded out the scores the Broncs counted, while Ben Ortwein (Easton, PA/Notre Dame) also competed with a four-over 75.

- Giovacchini's round featured a team-best five birdies.
- Bekefi, van der Nat and Ortwin each carded three birdies, while Gibson had two birdies.    
- The Broncs were one of four MAAC programs playing in the tournament, joining Siena (-16, 2nd), Fairfield (-5, T6th) and Manhattan (+14, 15th).
- Sacred Heart won the team title at -23 for the tournament.
- The Pioneers' Marcus Lim was the medalist at -10 (132) for the two-round tournament.

The Broncs return to action Monday, Sept. 19, when they begin play at the Hartford Hawks Invitational at Bulls Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, CT.
