Teagan Schein-Becker (Trappe, PA/Perkiomen Valley) and junior Baseball outfielder
Brendan O'Donnell (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) have been selected McGriff Insurance Services Rider Athletes of the Month for May.
Schein-Becker capped a tremendously-successful 2021-22 season with a Most Outstanding Track Performer honor at MAAC Championships, May 7-8, winning both the 800 meters and 1500 meters, while also winning gold as part of the 4x400 relay team. She went on to post a new Rider record in the 800 (2:08.16) at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet, before qualifying for the quarterfinals at NCAA East Preliminary Championships in the 1500 meters, where she finished 23
rd. For the year, she was All-MAAC in cross country, the ECAC Champion in the mile in the indoor season and Most Outstanding Track Performer in the outdoor season.
O'Donnell capped a prodigious campaign on the diamond, hitting .339 with seven home runs, 18 RBI's and 13 run scored as the Broncs advanced to the MAAC Championship series for the second-straight year. He finished the year with a Rider single-season record 20 home runs, three more than the prior record, held by Ken Kremer (1987) and Jason Koehler (1995). Included in the production was a .409 average with four home runs and eight RBI's in the MAAC Championships. He earned All-MAAC Second Team honors for his regular-season performance and was named to the MAAC All-Tournament Team.
