Tiroly Earns First-Team CSC Academic All-America Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University second baseman Joe Tiroly capped an historic 2025 season by being named to the CSC Academic All-America First Team Tuesday. The sophomore is just the second player in program history and sixth Rider athlete in any sport to earn Academic All-America honors, totaling eight Academic All-America honors.

The national recognition adds to the honors that Tiroly has accumulated, having previously earned Third-Team ABCA All-America honors, being named the 2025 MAAC Player of the Year, and was selected as the 2025 Rider Male Athlete of the Year. The sophomore was the only unanimous First Team All-MAAC selection and started all 52 games for the Broncs. He led the team in nearly every major offensive category, finishing the season with a .377 batting average, 75 hits, 70 RBIs, 18 home runs, 66 runs scored, and 16 doubles. Off the field, Tiroly maintained a 3.92 GPA as a film and television major.

The sophomore joins Jason Koehler, who earned Second-Team honors as a designated hitter in 1995, as Rider baseball's lone Academic All-America honorees. Across all sports, Tiroly is the first Bronc to be honored since Jonathan Jackson from the track and field team earned Third-Team honors in 2017, and he is the first Bronc to earn First-Team honors since women's soccer's Tara Ballay in 2015.
