WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Rider University men's and women's track and field teams are set to host the 2022 MAAC Outdoor Championships presented by VisitNJ this weekend, May 7-8, at the Michael P. Brady Track Complex.

- Both the Rider men and women were picked to finish second in the MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Coaches' Poll. Monmouth is the favorite on both the men's and women's sides.
- The Rider men finished second at 2021 MAAC Outdoor Championships behind Monmouth, while the women finished third behind the Hawks and Quinnipiac.

Teagan Schein-Becker has excelled this season, earning MAAC Track Performer of the Week four times in the outdoor season alone. She's continued to shave time off of her Rider-record 1500 meter time, which now stands at 4:18.32, which placed sixth at the prestigious Penn Relays against a national class field. It's the top time in the MAAC by six seconds. She's also contributed to new Rider records in the 4x800 and 4x1500 relays. Most recently, she ran a 2:04.9 split in the 4x800 at Penn Relays. She also has the top time in the MAAC in the 800 (2:10.06).

Allie Riches has also excelled for the women's team in the pole vault, posting the top mark in the MAAC (3.88m, Rider Record), well ahead of the next-closest competitor (3.65m). Riches was named MAAC Field Performer of the Week on April 26.

Mariah Stephens, is one of three Broncs in the top five in the conference in the triple jump (12.08m), joined by
Samantha Butler (11.78m) and
Wisdom Maddox (11.56m).

Dyani Bigelow has also posted the second-best time in the 400 hurdles (1:01.64), with teammate
Lydia Wallace (1:03.57) also ranking fourth in the conference.

Savanna Marcantonio has the second-best mark in the conference in the high jump (1.64m), while
Samantha Butler ranks tied for third (1.60m). Â
- The Broncs also have three of the top five marks in the javelin –
Grace Ramsey (43.16m), Marcantonio (37.31m) and
Rachel Schwenk (36.56m).

- The Rider men's team is paced by four individual student-athletes with the top times in the MAAC, including
Jerome Boyer, whose 48.08 in the 400 is tops in the league. The Broncs also feature the second (
Artie Burgess, 48.12) and fifth-best (
James Green, 48.78) marks in the event.

Tamrat Snyder has the top mark in the 800 (1:47.70), more than two seconds ahead of the next-closest mark.

Marques Merriweather has the top time in the 110 hurdles (14.33), while also holding the third-best time in the 400 hurdles (55.34).
- Led by 2021 MAAC Field Rookie of the Meet
Zach Manorowitz, the Broncs have the top four marks in the league in the long jump. Manorowitz leads the group at 7.53m, ahead of
Sherman Sawyer (7.17m),
Isaiah McClain (7.01m) and
Quentin Lacombe (6.96m).

Jayson Lee (13.87m) and
Devynn Lee (13.74m) look to score in the triple jump, currently holding the second and fourth-best marks in the league, respectively.

Jayden DuBard currently has top five marks in three throwing events – the shot put (15.99m, 3
rd), hammer (52.22m, 3
rd) and discus (44.24m, 5
th). He's joined in the top five of the shot put by
Alen Del Valle (14.91, 5
th) and the discus by
Noah Lawson (45.65m, 4
th).
- Christopher Bagnell (61.23m) and
Sam Gephart (54.22m) have the third and fifth-best marks in the javelin, respectively.
- Burgess also ranks fourth in the 100 (10.54) and fifth in the 200 (21.65). Â Â
- Boyer, Burgess, Green and Snyder broke the 36-year-old Rider record in the Sprint Medley Relay at Penn Relays, placing sixth in 3:20.63. Â Â Â
