Men's Track & Field Wins Second-Straight MAAC Outdoor Championship

Michael Palmer was named Most Outstanding Field Performer

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men's track & field team won its second-straight title at the 2024 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Sunday at the Michael P. Brack Track & Field Complex. The Broncs compiled 267 points. 

Michael Palmer was named Most Outstanding Field Performer after winning the triple jump with the mark of 14.00m and finishing second in the high jump with the mark of 1.98m., while Brandon Williams' 13.74m earned bronze in the triple jump. In the shot put, Jayden DuBard won gold with the mark of 16.70m, while Abraham Ohiokhai-Benson earned bronze with the mark of 14.68m. In the discus throw, Ohiokhai-Benson would win gold with the mark of 48.17m and Noah Lawson would take home the bronze with a mark of 41.63m.

Artie Burgess would take silver in the 100m with a time of 10.61. He was also part of the gold medal-winning 4x100 team 41.15 along with Gregory Moundine, Steven Bado, and Kaya Simpson.

The 4x800 meter relay team of Travis Lahr, Gobi Thurairajah, Derian Stianche, and Mali Coleman won silver (7:45.37).

Marques Merriweather won gold in the 110H in 14.37, while Ethan Przygoda also won gold in the 400 hurdles (55.13), while Steven Crespo would earn bronze (56.64).
