Men's Golf Completes Second Round at NCAA Regionals Tuesday

Devereux leads Rider with four-over 76

NORMAN, OK – The Rider University men's golf team completed the second round at the NCAA Norman Regional Tuesday with a 311 team score at OU Jimmie Austin Golf Club. The performance drops Rider into 13th of 13 teams with 18 holes left to play.

Austin Devereux (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan) led the Broncs, shooting four-over 76 for the second-straight day, while Rick van der Nat (Noordwijk, The Netherlands/Visser 't Hooft) and Jack Urban (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) followed with a 77 and 78, respectively. Connor Bekefi (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) and Louie Giovacchini (Windermere, FL/Windermere) rounded out the Broncs' competitors, shooting 80 and 81, respectively.

No. 18 Auburn (-20) took the team lead, shooting 12-under 276 today to push past host and nationally-ranked No. 1 Oklahoma, which shot three-under 285 and is -14 for the tournament. No. 7 Texas and No. 25 Ole Miss are tied for third at eight under, four strokes ahead of No. 50 Utah (-4). No. 24 South Carolina (-3), No. 36 Louisville (+5), No. 48 San Diego State (+7), Kansas State and No. 37 Missouri (+14), Kent State (+24) and UT Martin (+26) all lead the Broncs (+39).

- The Broncs are playing in their first-ever NCAA Regionals as a team, a year after Devereux, the 2021 MAAC Individual Champion, earned an automatic individual berth to play at the NCAA Kingston Springs Regional.  
- Urban led the Broncs with four birdies on the day and has a team-high seven for the tournament. Devereux, Giovacchini and van der Nat had three birdies apiece on Tuesday's round.
