Devereux Shoots One-Under, Men's Golf Finishes 8th of 15 Teams at Princeton Invitational

Broncs climb three spots for best finish in recent memory

PRINCETON, NJ – Austin Devereux (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan) shot a one-under 70, helping the Rider University men's golf team climb three spots to eighth of 15 teams with a final-round 290 Sunday morning at the Princeton Invitational, held at Springdale Golf Club. Louie Giovacchini (Windermere, FL/Windermere) shot two-over 73 Sunday and was the Broncs' top finisher (T-24th) in the tournament at 216 (+3), a stroke ahead of Devereux (217, +4, T-27th).

Rick van der Nat (Noordwijk, The Netherlands/Visser' t Hooft) shot 76 (+5) Sunday to finish the tournament at 221 (+8, T-41st), while Connor Bekefi (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) and Jack Urban (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) shot 73 and 74, respectively, on Sunday. Bekefi finished the tournament at 223 (+10, T-51st), while Urban was a stroke back at 224 (+11, T-54th).

- The Broncs' eighth-place finish is its best in recent memory at the Princeton Invitational.
- Host Princeton entered a pair of foursomes that finished 1-2 for the tournament.
- The Tigers' William Huang won the individual title y four strokes at seven-under after shooting 67-68-68 to finish the tournament at 203 (-10).
- The field consisted of all eight Ivies, Seton Hall, Temple, Saint Joseph's, Georgetown and Howard. The Broncs finished tied with Georgetown and ahead of Howard, Saint Joseph's, Cornell, Harvard, Penn and Brown.

The Broncs get a final tune-up for MAAC Championships at Villanova's Wildcat Spring Invitational, April 18-19, at Radnor Valley Country Club.
