EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) released the 2022-23 Indoor Track & Field Preseason Coaches' Poll on Friday morning. The poll, which is voted on by the league's Head Coaches, saw both the Rider men's and women's Track and Field teams picked first overall.
The Rider men topped the poll with 64 total points thanks to earning all eight first-place votes. Following the Broncs in the standings was Iona with 51 points and Manhattan with 48 points. St Peter's (30 points) rounded out the top five with Marist (23 points), Siena (20 points), and Canisius (10 points) finishing out the rest of the field.
On the women's side, Rider finished with 79 total points with seven of the possible nine first-place votes. Quinnipiac (65 points) followed the Broncs with the other two first-place votes with Iona (55 Points) rounding out the top three. Manhattan and MAAC newcomer Mount Saint Mary's came in just behind Iona tying for fourth with 54 points.
St Peter's (32 points), Siena (31 points), Marist (23 points), and Canisius (12 points) rounded out the rest of the field on the women's side.
Rider begins the 2022-23 indoor track season on Friday, December 2, at the Rutgers Holiday Invitational at The Armory, 168th St, NY.
