What You Need to Know
- The Rider University men's and women's track and field teams head to the 2026 MAAC Outdoor Championships this weekend, hosted by Mount St. Mary's, with championship expectations on both sides.
- Both programs were selected third in the MAAC Preseason Poll and enter the weekend chasing history, aiming to secure a fourth consecutive MAAC Outdoor title after sweeping the championships in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
- The Rider women have captured six MAAC Outdoor Championships in program history (2004, 2007, 2013, 2023, 2024, 2025), while the men have claimed five titles (2011, 2013, 2023, 2024, 2025).
- This spring, the Broncs combined for 11 MAAC Weekly Awards, led by freshman
Kendra Green with three honors.
Janell Mordi and
Gianna Glovack each added two, while
Maddie Dischert,
Mamadi Diawara, and
Liz Fis also earned recognition during the outdoor campaign.
Men's Preview
- Rider enters the weekend with strong positioning across multiple events.Â

Ethan Peffley ranks second in the MAAC in the 800m with a time of 1:51.69, while
Isaac Roberts IV holds the No. 2 spot in the 110m hurdles at 14.62.
- The Broncs are deep in the 400m hurdles, owning the top three times in the conference,
Mamadi Diawara (52.18),
Camryn Thomas (52.25), and
Cortland Webb (52.44).
- In relay action, the 4x800 squad of
Alberto Castillo,
Dylan Guarquila,
Amir Halim, and
Juan Nicholas Hidalgo returns with the second-fastest time in the league this season (8:09.55).
- Field events will be a major strength, led by reigning MAAC champion
Michael Palmer, who owns the top marks in both the high jump (2.11m) and triple jump (14.52m).Â

Damere Lassiter also enters as the conference leader in the shot put with a mark of 16.02m.
Women's Preview
- The Rider women bring a balanced lineup into the championships, featuring solid distance runners, relays, and field performers.

Maddie Dischert leads the distance group with the No. 2 time in the MAAC in the 1500m (4:27.06), a program record set earlier this season.
Liz Fis follows closely with the third-fastest time in the conference (4:31.14). Dischert also ranks third in the 5000m (16:34.70).
- On the track, the 4x100 relay team of
Jianna Fairfax-Wheeler,
Tamara Rawles,
Gina Rubio, and
Arie Still enters with the third-fastest time in the MAAC (46.52).
- In the field,
Samara Jones ranks third in the long jump (6.01m), while
Kendra Green leads the conference in the shot put (13.84m).
- Rider's throwing group adds further depth, with
Maria Chiariello holding the No. 2 marks in both the discus (40.36m) and hammer throw (48.47m), and
Gianna Glovack ranking third in the discus (39.67m).
- On the sprint side,
Dylan Giloley returns as the defending MAAC champion in the 200m, looking to repeat her title performance from a season ago.
